DOVIA is Directors of Volunteers in Agencies. Its purpose
is to give credence to volunteer program management as
a profession. Accordingly, DOVIA envisions a high quality of volunteer management professionals and volunteerism at all levels and in all organizations throughout the community.
DOVIA provides volunteer management professionals a forum to network and access field knowledge and information. It is our goal:
- To provide networking opportunities with others in this field for the purpose of sharing knowledge, experiences and resources.
- To provide the membership recent information on trends and issues in volunteerism and volunteer management within the nonprofit sector.
- To provide an opportunity for professional development.
- To offer an opportunity for mentoring to those who are new to this field.
- To provide an opportunity to share organization information, career opportunities and events that will assist others in their personal and organizational planning efforts.
Meetings are
held the second Wednesday of the odd-numbered months.

Speakers are regularly scheduled to discuss such
key issues for volunteer program managers as finding donors and obtaining resources, recruiting volunteers, providing ongoing volunteer support, and volunteer
recognition. Through open discussion, the group brainstorms ways to alleviate problems,
examine solutions for improvement and develop best
practices.
